Final Reflection
In fact, I actually took this course for college credit. At the beginning, I thought the course of art was easy and the teaching was good. So I chose this course very clearly. However, it is not the same as the art course I imagined. I thought the class was about looking at the art and learning about the background. Of course, the assignments the professor likes. Because I had studied pop culture before, I thought it was the same as art. For example, music, movies, modern paintings and so on...But I don't know what art is, what art is. After the beginning of the class, I gradually got the idea of art. In class, the professor also asked us what is art. At that time, I thought that anything can be art, as long as it is meant for someone or something. Because everyone can create art, art itself has no boundaries. Through the continuous progress in the classroom, I gradually understand that not everything is art. In short, real art will be known and remembered after a long time. It's not going to be buried in another thing for a while, like what's popular now. Art has always existed. Just like works of art and paintings in books, they are all paintings with deep meanings, not created by blindly "looking good".
At the beginning of this lesson, we learn various definitions of art. It's hard for us, who are not local students, to remember every definition. Although the professor will also cooperate with some examples and games to deepen our memory, I still think this part is a bit boring. During this period, we have also learned different artistic styles, some of which we have had, some of which we have not seen at all. From here on, I began to have a little interest in art. Because I'm curious about the art, the strange art makes me feel good. After learning the definition, it is the work of some famous artists. Van Gogh is the artist we learn most, because his works are very famous, and there are many kinds of learning. During this period, the professor also organized us to go to the museum in Chicago and let us see Van Gogh's works with our own eyes. Of course, there are many other famous artists. In addition, the professor will also publish tasks to our group, such as creating poems, publishing opinions, appreciating works, etc. In the end, let's send each other business cards. But because of the outbreak, the postcard was never sent out. One extra-curricular task before the outbreak was for the group to visit the museum and give a speech. In this class, I went to the museum that I may never know, and the museum that I always wanted to go to. If it wasn't for the outbreak, I think we would have more interesting tasks, because this class is a class with credits and fun.
